Artist Profile Verification

Apply for a YouTube Official Artist Channel Through MeloLab

OAC eligibility, required information, and channel ID lookup.

A YouTube Official Artist Channel (OAC) brings an artist's owned-and-operated channel, Topic channel, VEVO channel, and other music content together under one official identity.

Eligibility

  1. You must have a YouTube channel operated by the artist or the artist's team. OACs are available to artists and bands, not labels or record companies.
  2. At least one release must have been delivered to YouTube Music through MeloLab.
  3. The owned-and-operated channel must contain at least one video using that release, such as an official music video, lyric video, or live performance.

All requirements must be met. YouTube review usually takes about one week, but in some cases may take a month or longer.

Application Process

  1. Confirm that the artist meets the requirements and review YouTube's OAC guidance.
  2. Collect all required links, channel IDs, and release information.
  3. Complete the YouTube OAC application form provided by MeloLab and send it to Support.
  4. MeloLab verifies the information and submits the request to YouTube.
  5. After approval, YouTube upgrades the channel to an OAC. Monitor the channel and contact email for updates.

Required Information

  • The owned-and-operated YouTube channel ID. It must begin with "UC" and the channel must be managed by the artist or their team.
  • The artist's YouTube Topic channel ID.
  • The artist's YouTube VEVO channel ID, if applicable.
  • The artist name exactly as shown in release metadata.
  • At least one YouTube Music link for a release delivered by MeloLab, plus the corresponding UPC or ISRC.
  • At least one video on the owned-and-operated channel that uses the delivered music.
  • The applicant's name, represented label, and an email address that can receive YouTube notifications.

Find a Channel ID

Owned-and-operated channel: Open the channel page, select More about this channel or More, then choose Share channel and Copy channel ID.

Topic channel: Search for the artist on YouTube Music and open the artist page. The text after /channel/ in the browser URL is the channel ID.

Before submitting, confirm that every link works. If any information changes after submission, contact MeloLab Support promptly.
