Audio File Specifications

Lossless Audio

File specifications and delivery requirements for lossless audio.
  1. Mixing and mastering: All audio must be professionally mixed and mastered before delivery to meet current music industry standards.

  2. Audio quality: Files must be free of audible defects. Audio containing background noise or other quality issues will not be accepted for distribution.

    Formats: WAV or FLAC

    Minimum: 16-bit, 44.1 kHz, stereo. Recommended: 24-bit, 48 kHz or 24-bit, 96 kHz.

  3. Audio and title: The audio file must match its track title. Audio uploaded to the wrong track will not be accepted.

  4. Silence, gaps, and abrupt edits: Unintended silence, cuts, pauses, or excessive trailing silence are not allowed. Trailing silence must not exceed ten seconds. Avoid abrupt endings or other gaps that could be mistaken for audio defects.

  1. Silent and hidden tracks: Identify silent, hidden, or ghost tracks in the Version field. Where tracks are separated, the silence requirements above still apply.

  2. Audio excerpts: Incomplete excerpts intentionally cut from a longer recording are not accepted.
