Video File Specifications

4K Music Video

File specifications and delivery requirements for 4K music videos.

Requirements for 3840 x 2160 UHD video:

  • Apple ProRes 422 HQ, 4444, or 4444 XQ.

  • Expected VBR: approximately 880 Mbps for 422 HQ, 1320 Mbps for 4444, and 2000 Mbps for 4444 XQ.

  • Content must be encoded in the ITU-R BT.709 color space.

  • 4K sources must be progressive and may be delivered at 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97, or 30 fps.

  • Video gamma may be tagged and must be between 2.15 and 2.25.

  • 4K sources may be matted with letterboxing, pillarboxing, or windowboxing.

  • Every video must begin and end with at least one black frame. Videos beginning with or containing an empty edit will be rejected. An empty edit is permitted only as the final item in the edit list.
