Video File Specifications

HD Music Video

File specifications and delivery requirements for HD music videos.

Requirements for 1920 x 1080 video encoded with square pixels:

  • Video format: Apple ProRes 422 (HQ), 4444, or 4444 (XQ). Expected VBR is approximately 220 Mbps.

  • Frame rate: 29.97 or 25 fps for interlaced source material; 23.976, 24, 25, or 30 fps for progressive digital or film source material.

  • Video gamma may be tagged and must be between 2.15 and 2.25.

  • HD sources may be matted with letterboxing, pillarboxing, or windowboxing.

  • Every video must begin and end with at least one black frame. Videos beginning with or containing an empty edit will be rejected. An empty edit is permitted only as the final item in the edit list.
