Content, rights, and delivery risks to resolve before submission.
The following content is generally not eligible for delivery. If you have express platform approval or exceptional circumstances, contact MeloLab before submission and provide complete supporting documentation.
Functional Audio & Noise
Large volumes of audio created for a functional purpose may be treated by DSPs as low-value or undesirable content.
Meditation sounds
Sleep sounds
White noise
Rain and other ambient sounds
Content Without Complete Rights
Recordings or works the Customer has no right to distribute.
Tracks containing unauthorized third-party excerpts, samples, or recordings.
Remasters, mashups, or other derivative works created without the complete rights or required licenses for the original work.
DJ mixes containing unauthorized recordings.
Content Highly Similar to Existing Works
Content that closely imitates another work or is likely to cause confusion may be rejected even when it does not meet the legal threshold for infringement.
Highly similar sound effects or recordings.
Karaoke versions created without rights to the underlying work.
Re-recorded versions submitted without authorization for the composition or without clear metadata distinguishing them from the original recording.
Remastered versions or live recordings submitted without control of the original recording rights.
Misuse of Names or Reputation
Using another artist's name in artist, release, or track metadata in a way that may mislead listeners, including deliberate misspellings.
Using another party's existing artwork, name, likeness, or identity without authorization.
Using brands, people, images, voices, or popular-culture elements deceptively in audio, artwork, or metadata.
Concealing samples from other tracks or presenting content as another work.
Embedding audio at extremely low volume in video to generate streams.
Using bots or automation to generate streams, creations, or views.
Using very short tracks or imperceptible audio changes to accumulate repeat streams.
Delivering other tracks that violate this policy.
Non-Exclusive Content
When multiple parties deliver the same content in the same territory, DSP rights conflicts may result. Content should not be delivered when the submitting party cannot control it exclusively, even if several parties hold separate licenses.
Public-domain recordings.
Compilations, scores, or tracks licensed on a non-exclusive basis.
Non-exclusively licensed production music or content containing it.
Illegal or Harmful Content
Content that incites violence, hatred, or real-world harm.
Defamatory content or hate speech.
Content promoting the exploitation or abuse of minors.
Content promoting sexual violence or other unlawful conduct.
Ineligible Audio Reference Material
YouTube, Meta, Snap, and other platforms use audio recognition systems. To reduce false matches and rights conflicts, the following content generally cannot be submitted as a fingerprint reference:
A complete album or compilation combined into one recording.
A live recording with no material difference from the studio recording.
Generic sounds such as sound effects, applause, laughter, or ringtones.
Speech without musical accompaniment.
White noise, ambient audio, sleep audio, or meditation audio.
Duplicate Content
Do not repeatedly submit the same content or audio file with only minor changes to the title, artist name, or other metadata.
AI-Generated Content
AI-generated or AI-assisted content must be disclosed accurately, must carry all rights required for distribution, and must meet the quality and metadata requirements of each destination DSP.
Do not use AI to impersonate a person, infringe third-party rights, mass-produce low-quality content, manipulate streams, or bypass platform review.
